We took part in class presentations this week. There were a few nerves but I was absolutely blown away by the information that was shared, the confidence our P5s had and their natural ability to engage an audience. I think there are some future leaders among us! Well done P5!

January has gone in a flash. It's been a busy month, filled with fun and new learning. A lesson that was particularly enjoyed by P5 was our narrative about a wee Scottish Mouse. P5 were delighted to win a prestigious award for literacy this week. In January, we did a lot of literacy work on our Scots Poetry topic including writing a biography of Rabbie Burns, learning and reciting his poems, creating our own Scots poems and hosting a Burn supper for parents. We really got into the Christmas mood after watching the pantomime. We went to see Sleeping Beauty at the theatre in Bathgate. It was a great day. We enjoyed booing for the nasty queen and cheering for the huntsman and Snow White. The dwarves were very funny.

In our committee group this week we discussed what's going well in both digital and play in our classes, we also talked about what we would like to see in our classrooms going forward. Ness Class have been exploring Scottish songs, poems, literature and myths. Inspired by the story of Nessie, Ness class decided they wanted to make jelly monsters during Food Tech this week.
