Hello and a huge big welcome back to all in Tay Class!

Let’s sing this song together!

Hello Song by The Kiboomers:

We missed you so very much during the Easter holidays and hope you and your families had a relaxing time, even if things were not the same as usual.

Here are some photographs to look at, so you can see all your friends and think about the fun learning activities we do in Tay Class.

Don’t forget the adults you work with (and who miss you so much)!

We hope you are enjoying the learning activities being posted in our weekly Learning Grids. It is okay to substitute other things you and your family enjoy doing together, just do what you can.

You will notice a new Nursery Rhyme for you to say, sing or even learn. I chose this one because I noticed a lot of spiders’ webs on my garden fence at this time of year! In Tay Class, we are given daily opportunities to develop a wide repertoire of songs and rhymes. The main purpose of learning, chanting or singing these rhymes is to develop awareness of sounds by playing with words, so vital in learning to speak, read and write. We love multi-sensory experiences such as making up actions to songs: we can add claps, knee pats and foot stamps or move in a particular way.

Think about what would best suit an elephant but think carefully about it having to play on a delicate web! Use this verse to find alternative words that rhyme: play and dayfun and come or crack and back. We love it if you make a ‘mistake’ and will soon rush to correct you! Stop as you come to the final word in the rhyme, then extend this to the final word on each line and gesture to me to complete it.

These are the ways we can keep in touch with other:
