S.C. – I can begin the day with some activity.

Reading – This task is the World Earth day reading comprehension. There is a choice of mild, Spicy and Hot Challenges. You can select your own level of challenge. The answers are there and will help you if you are really stuck but try not to look at them before you have given it a go yourself. Once you have read the text you will be working on your scanning technique.
Scanning
You begin by selecting a keyword from the question. You then look for that keywords in the text to try to narrow down the part of the biography where the answer can be found. Once you have found this part of the text, read the sentences before and after the sentence containing the keyword. Within these sentences you should be able to find the answer.

- I can reform the information in the text as a sentence to answer the question.
Writing – Take some time to look at the world Earth day writing cards. You may select one or two of these to complete.
L.I. – I am learning to create a piece of writing about World Earth day.
S.C. –
- I can select a writing challenge from the cards.
- I can think about the type of text that I have chosen (layout, type of language, paragraphs).
- I can talk about the Earth and how to preserve it for future generations.
Maths- Some of us have found the fractions work tricky. Today you may continue to revise fractions using the booklet we started yesterday. If you are happy and confident in the work you have covered in this unit feel free to use Sumdog. I will post up the next task to do so that you can have a go if you like.

- I can use a diagram to identify what fraction of a whole object has be represented.
- I can write a fraction in words and in numerals.
