It might have been a short week here in Primary 4 but it’s certainly been a busy one, full of learning and fun!

We worked hard to revise Place Value in Maths this week. We thought about how important it is to know what each digit means. We watched a video about different number systems. Did you know that our number system is based on 10?

We also worked on symmetry. We took photos of symmetry from outside and inside school. We will use them in our display. We folded shapes to find out how many lines of symmetry they have. We coloured in pictures to show symmetry.

Do you like apples? If you do, then you will be disappointed to learn that you missed a chance to have a tasty bite on Thursday morning! We investigated what an apple looks like, smells like, sounds like, feel like and what it tastes like! After that, we wrote poems! We drew apples and wrote in our best handwriting once we were ready. Look out for a rather delicious display!

Most of us have completed our Roman Soldier collages now. We also found out how to play Tali which is a game which Romans enjoyed. We researched how the Roman soldiers protected themselves by using their shields like a tortoise shell.

Next week, we are going to start a new Word Boost Book! It is called The Invisible Womble by Elisabeth Beresford.

It is Maths Week next week and we will be learning about Roman Numerals.

We are also going to start our new Outdoor Learning with The Conservation Volunteers, so remember that you will need to be ready to go outside, even if it pours!
