Making Bird Feeders
Tay Class thoroughly enjoyed their Outdoor Learning session this week. We made bird feeders by filling apples with a mix of bird seed and fat. Once finished, we hung them up on the fence railings and will check to see if any birds have been tempted. We took the opportunity to play on the Trim Trail when waiting for our turn. Just as well we were dressed for muddy conditions!
Loose Parts Play: Fireworks
Loose parts is the label given to children using any collection of materials to expand upon their play. Loose parts have no specific function or goal; they can be moved, arranged, taken apart and more! It provides children with opportunities to think and create for themselves, not simply follow a model. Although the word ‘play’ may be used, a great deal of learning takes place when Tay Class engage with loose parts.
