Over the past 2 weeks we have had experience of measure in class. Our focus was on length. We started by comparing different lengths and finding objects that were longer and shorter than each other.
We then used non-standard units to measure objects. We used cubes and paper clips.
This week we learned how to measure using a ruler. We know that we start measuring at the first line and the length of the object is the number on the ruler where the object stops, we also learned that we are measuring in centimetres. We had fun measuring things in the class.
Our play over the past 2 weeks has been fun. We have had the opportunity to thread needles and sew. We have been building using the magnetic shapes. We have been very busy looking after patients in the doctors surgery. We have been pretending to be nurses, doctors and paramedics.
