P1 Love a Light

In primary 1 we are using lights to help us with our literacy work.

We are focusing on our core writing targets on a Wednesday morning. We know that if we sit comfortably in our seats and focus properly, our writing will be the best it can be.

To help with this we now have our very own writing candles. These candles are switched on and placed on our desk to help us to settle to our work and concentrate on our writing.  We have our writing targets on our table to remind us that sentences start with a capital letter and end with a full stop and we are getting very good at ensuring our writing is sitting on the line and using finger spaces.

Lights have also been helping us with our reading. We have been using our finger lights to follow the words as we read. These lights have helped us to focus on the words and to show that we can follow a sentence as we read.
