What a magical time we have been having in primary 1.
A friendly dragon has left us some letters explaining that his Fairyland is disappearing and that he needs our help. He has asked us to make a Fairyland in our classroom for all of the Fairyland characters. We read Jack and The Beanstalk and then decided to make a beanstalk. We collected leaves and examined the different shapes and sizes. We then made our own leaves using paint and collage materials. We then made a beanstalk in the classroom.
The dragon left us all a Castle Book which he asked us to use to record all the things we do in class for Fairyland. We have loved using them. We drew amazing pictures of the dragon and the Beanstalk. We told the dragon what we have been doing so far. The dragon also left us a D Mail box which we can use to post letters and pictures to the friendly dragon.
During our last session of outdoor education Alice had the great idea that we could make fairy gardens. We had great fun collecting rocks, leaves, pinecones and other interesting natural bits and pieces which we could add to the gardens. We arranged some plants and added the other material we had collected to make some interesting gardens for the fairies.
