Planting & Weeding Skills

Rannoch boys were outdoors in the garden weeding this week, keeping an eye on the vegetables they planted in April.  They are coming along nicely. They were also out with Alice planting more Ferns and became  ‘Nature Detectives’ hunting for caterpillars for a couple of hours!   The boys loved this. They found lots of different insects in wood pile and  attempted to identify them from information cards provided by the Woodland Trust.

Emotion Works – ‘Behaviours’

Classwork continued on more ‘Emotion Works’ learning this week, with a focus on ‘Behaviours.’ It was an interesting lesson, with some of the boys identifying (some with support) the behaviours they demonstrate when things don’t go quite so well (when they’re ‘triggered’). They were also able to identify behaviours they demonstrated when they felt happy. Some of the boys were not feeling comfortable at all identifying their behaviours  – ‘triggering’ a reaction – lots and lots of work needed yet which will continue to expose the boys to the Emotion Works language & Symbols.
