Hansel and Gretel, One of the Greatest Stories of all Time - You are Mom

Last week we enjoyed listening to a fairy tale called “Hansel and Gretel”.  We spoke about our favourite parts in the story and then wrote about it.  We used a word mat to help us with some key vocabulary and we tried really hard to spell common words all by ourselves.  We have been learning to sound out words when spelling and been using capital letters, full stops and fingers spaces in our writing.  We are trying to remember to read through our sentences too.  Look at our wonderful stories!

Laila – “I liked when they find the gingerbread house and the old lady.  She’s scary”.

Connor – “My best bit was  when she (Gretel) shoved the old witch into the oven”.

Charlie – “It’s funny when the witch gets pushed in the oven”.

Ethan – “I liked when they put the pebbles down”.

Maisie – “I wrote about when Gretel found the key and unlocked the cage for Hansel”.

Amelia – “My favourite bit is when Hansel and Gretel kept the treasure chest full of coins and took them to dad”.

Rosie “I like my writing because I could do it all by myself and I used the word mat”.

David – “I like it when they went back to dad at the end”.

Emma-Leigh – “I like it when they lived happily ever after.  It’s my favourite story”.
