This week Primary 7 have started their topic ‘Conflict’ by beginning to learn about the Jacobites. Pupils got into small groups to research who the Jacobites were, when they were in Scotland, what they stood for and why they started so many rebellions. We then shared our research with the whole class and found out some interesting facts! Next we looked at Jacobites in the context of Scottish history and created a Jacobite timeline showing key dates of their rebellions and how it impacted the throne. Finally we did our reading comprehension this week on Bonnie Prince Charlie and found out lots of fascinating facts about his time in Scotland, his family history and his dramatic escape back to France.
