Autumn has arrived in Primary 1.

We have been learning the months of the year and the 4 seasons in a year. We discussed that we are in the season of Autumn and what that means.

We went for an Autumn walk to the woods to look for signs of Autumn. We noticed that the leaves are falling off of the trees and they are changing colour. The leaves that used to be green are now brown, red, yellow and orange. We found pine cones that have fallen from the trees and Mrs Gaffney brought in some conkers for us to investigate.

We collected lots of leaves today and made a hedgehog collage and added them to our Autumn wall display.

We also discussed that in Autumn we have Halloween and pumpkins. On one of our tuff trays we have pumpkins and we had fun using the screwdrivers and screws. We used magnifying glasses to look at the texture and colours of the Autumn artefacts we had collected.
