Over the last few weeks in P7 we have been learning more about our science topic energy. This week we learned about the difference between heat and temperature and how heat energy always flows from a hotter object to a cooler one. We tested this out in our experiment where we had to cool some hot water to exactly 20 degrees using ice and cold water. We recorded how many ice cubes we needed and the temperature in time intervals.

In expressive arts we have been learning about Manga – a Japanese artform found in graphic novels. We have learned about how to draw a manga character’s face and how to portray emotions by exaggering their facial features. Here is some of the work in progress so far!

We also completed another fantastic whole-class art display this time for our dining hall. We were asked to design a poster for Habit 7 from Leader in Me – Sharpening the Saw. I think the results speak for themselves! Everyone embodied superb teamwork and came up with great creative ideas. The poster is now on display for all to see and is a credit to the work ethic and respectful and helpful nature of all our wonderful P7s!

In writing we have been learning to write an information report and have been creating one about St Mary’s Primary school.

In numeracy we are beginning to understand how to convert decimals into fractions and vice versa as well as becoming more fluent in understanding the relationship between the two.

Finally well done to everyone who had now recited their scots poem in class and good luck to the class finalists in tomorrow’s schools competition!

Have a lovely half term P7, you have earned it!
