Cyber Attack update

Investigation work has been ongoing into the impact of the council's education network as a result of the criminal attack.

Primary 3

Primary 3 have had a very busy learning week…..

We enjoyed our outdoor learning on Monday afternoon. We are learning how to be responsible in the woodland area, thinking about what is and is not safe for us to do. We all enjoyed exploring, climbing trees, making nests and we even made a swing.

On Tuesday morning we had a lovely visit to our local library in West Calder. We learned all about the library, that it is a quiet place so people can read and where to find books for our age. We got a lovely pack from the librarian with some colouring in and a registration form to get our own library cards!

On Tuesday afternoon we learned all about Shrove Tuesday and why people make pancakes and call it Pancake Tuesday. We all enjoyed making pancakes from scratch in class, cooking and eating them. Lots of skill were used to do this and we had lots of tasty fun!

On Wednesday we celebrated Ash Wednesday together as a whole school, we all enjoyed being back in the hall together with the other classes.

Thursday was fun filled Book Day! We all came to school in our pyjamas and brought in our favourite book from home to share. We built reading dens so we could cosy in and read our books together. We also enjoyed some authors reading their stories live on TV. Inspired by the authors we set about making our own books, we are all very proud of them and some of us have recorded ourselves reading them for you, we hope you enjoy. We are going to share these in the school so everyone can see our fantastic work.  We also had lots of fun completing a book hunt around the school! After the hard work of writing a book  and running around in the book hunt we made our own spoon book characters, we found this lots of fun and used lots of different materials to complete them.

We said a special prayer today for all the boys and girls in our class who are participating in the sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday.

Have a lovely weekend.
