Last week before the Easter holidays and we have packed a lot in.
We have worked very hard in the garden this week. We managed to move and fill two full planters and plant pumpkin seeds, creating our very own pumpkin patch. We will monitor their growth with the hope that by October we will have some nice pumpkins to harvest.
Whilst working outdoors more we have noticed litter not being put in the bins or not being recycled, this concerned us so as well doing a litter pick of the area we were working in we have made posters to put up around the school to remind everyone to pick up their litter.
It was our class turn to host mass and today we did an excellent job. We have been practicing our readings and prayers and all agreed that practicing made us feel more confident. We have enjoyed learning the story behind Easter and the importance of Lent. We took time to think about how we could be more like Jesus:
Tyler: By showing perseverance.
Isabel: By being kind to everyone.
Raeya: Forgiving people and being kind.
We have also had the opportunity to participate in a Easter egg design competition through the community Hub. As well as this we have made Easter cards and cakes!
We enjoy cooking in class and all have a good understanding why it is important to clean our work area and hands before starting. We are also learning that it is important to listen carefully to the instructions if we want to be successful. We had lots of fun making our crispy nest cakes, and more fun sampling some before taking them home……if they made it home.
Zuzanna – My best part of the week was cooking.
April – The cooking was the best bit.
Tyler: Maths and spelling was the best bit of the week.
Lyle: Maths, I like maths so that was the best bit of the week.
Daniel and Brax: The best bit of the week was working in the garden.
Have a lovely holiday!
