We have had another very busy week in P1.
In maths we continued to learn different ways to collect and present data. We used tally marks to collect data on the traffic we saw passing the school and we then created a pictogram to show the results. We also made a pictogram to show which colour of eyes is the most popular in our class. We discovered that most people in our class have blue eyes.
Our topic this term is a book study. We read Yucky Worms by Vivian French. The book is a story with some non-fiction parts. It teaches us all about worms and how important they are. W
We studied art by the famous artist, Henri Matisse. We found out that he was studying to be a lawyer. He became ill and during his long stay in hospital he started to paint. He then decided to change his career from Lawyer to Artist.
We studied these two famous paintings, The Sheaf and the Snail. We looked at how he used shape and colour to create pictures. Inspired by Henri Matisse we created our own abstract pictures.
