We have had such a busy week in Primary 5, with lots of new beginnings!
It started off with discussing our new writing genre in literacy which is Information Reports, then we moved onto a new numeracy topic, Fractions. We all put lots of hard work into these new topics and are all doing really, really well!!
We have a ‘classroom door competition’ on Monday 6th of February so we spent some time designing our door that had to be based on our class novel. Currently we are reading Matilda by Roald Dahl and it is a big hit so far! All of the pupils came up with different ideas for our door, noted them on our whiteboard in class and got to work! The attention detail has been amazing from their own individual mini books to the ‘tinfoil’ nails on the chokey door! Big well done P5!!
Today was also our first Friday Mass in St Mary’s and Primary 5 lead our Mass. I am so proud of all of them for their efforts and participation. The theme was Happiness and it certainly made me smile seeing all of them taking part and working together as a team to do such a great job! The 6 pupils who spoke during the Mass all received a special ‘Star of the Week’ certificate for all their efforts learning their readings and doing so well this morning.
Massive well done to Skye for being our ‘Star of the Week’ this week for all her hard work in our numeracy lessons! Excellent work this week Skye, you should be very, very proud of yourself!!!
We have had some great achievements outside of the classroom to celebrate this week too! We have our own champion gymnast who shared some great photos with us all this week of her tumbling and performing at a very high height!! And we also have a published artist with a painting in a national book!! Very big high fives and well done for these achievements this week!!
I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll see everyone on Monday!!
