Primary 1 have had a super learning week.
We spent some time in the garden harvesting some vegetables and turnip. Finding our vegetable treasure was very exciting. We got to use garden tools and had to dig deep to find them. They were very dirty, so we have spent time cleaning them. Lots of discussion was had on what we could make with them.
There was enough for us all to take one home!
The cleaning was lots of fun, we enjoyed looking at them once all the dirt was washed off.
We then peeled and chopped the vegetables and put them in a pot to make soup, we added water, lentils, stock cubes and mixed it before putting it on the cooker. We bought some extra vegetables from the shop to add to our soup.
Once the soup was cooked we buttered some bread and had a taste of it, some of us ate more than one bowl of soup, it was that tasty. Some of us just smelt the soup as we were unsure and some of us only had bread.
