P3 ☔️
This week in P3 we used our measurement skills from Maths to create our very own rain gauges. A rain gauge helps us measure how much rain falls over a period of time. We focused on measuring using centimetres and practised reading the measurements carefully.
First, we made our rain gauges and marked clear measurement lines in centimetres so we could accurately see how much rain collects. We talked about why it is important to measure carefully and make sure the numbers are evenly spaced so the measurements are correct.
Once our rain gauges were ready, we went outside to the school garden and planted them securely in the ground. We made sure they were standing straight so they could collect rain properly. Over the weekend, the rain gauges will stay outside to collect any rainfall.
Next week, we will go back to the garden to check and measure how much rain has fallen. We will read the measurements and compare our results to see how much rain we had over the weekend.
