What a busy week in Primary 2

We’ve been as busy as ever and have had lots of fun learning together!

Art: On Monday, we enjoyed a special art lesson with Mrs Ferguson, where we explored self-portraits and thought carefully about the features that make each of us unique.

Read Write Inc.: We officially began our phonics and reading programme! We’ve been enjoying learning new sounds, practising our reading skills and getting stuck into lots of exciting stories.

Numeracy: great excitement this week as we started using our Maths No Problem book. We have been counting forwards and backwards from 10, recognising the number 0 and using concrete materials to help us develop our understanding. We’ve been on a real quest for numeracy success!

Health & Wellbeing: We talked about things that can help our minds when we are feeling worried or anxious. We enjoyed stories such as The Invisible String and explored different strategies we can use to help ourselves feel calm and safe. We have also reintroduced brushing our teeth after lunch, helping us develop healthy habits.

French: We revised our French greetings and practised saying bonjour and greeting one another.

‍♀️‍⚕️We have begun our new topic ‘People Who Help Us’! We shared our ideas about the different people who help us in our community and started thinking of lots of wonderful questions we would like to find the answers to such as “do farmers sleep outside?”, “do fire fighters get scared?” and “do dentists take out their own teeth?”

What a fantastic second week! Stay tuned to see what we get up to next week!
